Incessant rain affects normal life in Kaliabor

KALIABOR, July 9: It has been raining in Kaliabor since Saturday and this has affected normal life. At Burhapahar on NH-37, due to heavy rain a landslide took place on Saturday night and hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the road for hours till the road block was cleared with excavator vehicle. Already all paddy fields, ditches and ponds in Kaliabor are filled with water.  Livestock of the villagers have been affected as the grasslands have been submerged in water. People now fear that if the rain continues, fresh territories will be submerged and Laokhowa and Sollong will face an adverse situation.
