Incomplete construction of JNKB Road angers public

HAMREN, Oct 15: Even after Hamren subdivision was declared a new district headquarter, nothing has changed in West Karbi Anglong district in terms of development. The roads in the district have deteriorated further, alleged people. In the year 2011, the North Eastern Council had funded for the construction of Jawai-Nortiang Khanduli- Baithalangso (JNKB) road. The road construction work has not been completed till date. The people had expected that after Hamren subdivision was made the district headquarter, all-round development would take place in the district. But unfortutely this was not so.

People are facing inconvenience due to the pathetic condition of most roads in the district. The poll promises made by the political parties have been forgotten, alleged the people. The people of West Karbi Anglong have urged the KAAC authority to take immediate steps for the completion of all road construction works.
