DIPHU, January 24: The indefinite Karbi Anglong bandh, called by six social, student and youth organizations, has been suspended after crucial discussion initiated by the district administration and KAAC authority on Sunday at Diphu.

In order to review the bandh call, emergency meetings were also held since yesterday under the initiative of Karbi Cultural Society (KCS), KNLNF, Karbi literary body, Karbi Lame Amei (KLA), Diphu Chamber of Commerce, Karbi Anglong Primary Teachers’ Association (KAPTA) and various social organizations.

Subsequently, the indefinite bandh call has been withdrawn by the organizations in the meeting held by the district administration. The KSA (Mirjeng faction), KYDO, KFA, UFC and AKSU called for indefinite bandh from January 24 against the declaration of recognizing the Bodos residing in hills as ST (H).
