Independent Candidate Upamanyu Hazarika lodged counter FIR against BJP Convener in Guwahati

Guwahati: Guwahati Independent Candidate Upamanyu Hazarika on Wednesday lodged a counter FIR against Benudhar Nath, Convener, Law & Legal Affairs Department Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh for providing false information alleging that on April 6.

As per the First Information Report by BJP on last Saturday had alleged that at around 1 pm to 1.30 pm while party bearers went to take lunch Upamanyu Hazarika along with his associates had entered into the election office under BJP Dispur Mandal situated at New Guwahati Tiniali of Ward No. 48 with ill and malafide intention to cause disturbance of peace and tranquility in the area during the election time and also released a press meet along with 30 to 40 supporters.

It was also alleged earlier that Upamanyu Hazarika along with his associates was engaged in taking away the papers, pamphlets, banners and other election-related valuable items from the BJP party office.

Therefore, today Independent Candidate Hazarika lodged a counter FIR at the Noonmati Police Station and further appealed to book the culprits under section 211 and 182 of the Indian Penal Code.
