Indian Air Strike on Pakistan LoC after the Pulwama Attack

Guwahati: According to reports, the Indian Air Force fighter planes struck Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camp across the Line of Control (LOC) in Balakot, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa on Tuesday morning.

Reports says that 12 IAF Mirage 2000 jets struck terror camps inside PoK early morning today and destroyed camps belonging to Pakistan based terror outfits in Balakot, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad. The 20-21 minute operation reportedly began at 3.30 am.

It has also been reported that Pakistan has claimed that the IAF jets violated the LOC.

According to sources, the IAF Mirage-2000 jets with 1000 kg laser-guided bombs caused an estimated casualty of 200-300 and the laser-guided bombs are built with Israeli technology and were first used in Kargil.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also holds a top security meet to review the situation along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.

According to sources, the Balakote camp is spread around 6 to 7 acres which is the biggest Jaish-e-Mohammad camp in Pakistan.

The air strike of February 26 is the first time after the 1971 war that the Indian fighter aircraft have violated the Pakistani airspace and Indian Aircraft did not cross the LoC even during the 1999 Kargil War.

The Surgical Strike 2.0 is much bigger in scale that the ones conducted after the Uri attack in September 2016. It is also one of the much bigger in scale because of the payload of weapons dropped on Jaish sites as compared to the sort of artillery and gunfire used in the first surgical strike.

India has carried out the biggest ever surgical strike despite the high stakes involved. Moreover, it has been conducted despite the threats made by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to retaliate for the Pulwama Attack, Pakistan wouldn't think of retaliating, it would retaliate.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi summoned an emergency meeting in Islamabad within an hour after the surgical attack to discuss about the security scenario.

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other political leaders have come together to salute the armed forces and the surgical strike.

However, the figures that are mentioned is not yet confirmed which has come from sources.
