ITANAGAR, July 14 : Around 120 yaks was medicated in a treatment camp organised by 40 Mountain Brigade at Yangtse in Tawang district under the aegis of 10 Madras, Headquarter of Indian Army on Saturday. Veterinary officer Major Ankit Pathak inspected and treated approximately 120 Yaks of local graziers in Yangtse. The camp was unique because it was a maiden effort by the Indian Army to assist graziers in the high reaches of Arunachal Pradesh at altitudes in excess of 14,210 feet. The local graziers expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army and the unit in particular. Speaking on the occasion, the local headman Karma praised the Indian Army and said that the Army was ever helpful to the local graziers and extended his gratitude to the Veterinary Camp and said that the same will go a long way in maintenance of good health of Yaks as they are the graziers primary assets.
The camp was a huge success with graziers from all around the area participating with their yaks and other livestock.
