Information About How To Get Food Safety Licence And Registration

Are you a food producer or a food seller? If so, either an FSSAI’s (Food Safety and Standard Authority of India) registration or a licence is a must for you. For such a document, you need to apply online to foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in. In case your business turnover is below Rs 30 crore, but not less than Rs 12 lakh, you need an FSSAI’s State licence by paying a fee of Rs 2,000. If your business turnover is Rs 30 crore or above, you need an FSSAI’s central licence. If your business turnover is below Rs 12 lakh, a registration through the payment of Rs 100 as fee will do. An FSSAI’s central licence is a must if your business operation is in more than two States. If your business is a hotel, starless to three-star ones, your licence fee will be Rs 2,000. The licence fee is Rs 5,000 for a four-star hotel. If your business is a five-star hotel, FSSAI’s central licence is a must. The licence fee for a manufacturing unit is Rs 3,000. These amounts of fees will remain unchanged for annual renewal of registration/licence.

Make sure your application should have a copy of the partnership agreement if it is a partnership venture, your photo identity, your address proof, a copy of the rent agreement if your business is operated from a rented accommodation, the water test report in case your business is a hotel or a restaurant, a licence from the GMC if your business is in Guwahati, a self-declaration of the food safety management plan and a declaration on the annual turnover of your business.
