Integration Mela held during ethnic festival

DIPHU, March 17: The Director of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Assam jointly organized an Integration Mela with the 1st Ethnic Festival Assam, 2015 held under the initiative of Karbi Anglong District Administration in association with Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Karbi Cultural Society at Karbi People’s Hall, Taralangso, Diphu recently.

In this connection, the DIPR, Assam put up an exhibition stall where various photographs and publications published by the Department were displayed, along with a video show on Karbi traditiol culture and folk songs. The Department of Information & Public Relations also organized various programme like painting, photography competition and symposium at the Karbi People’s Hall, Taralangso.

The painting competition was held among the student of three groups - from 7 years to 10 years and 11 years to 15 years and senior group with the help of Student Council of Assam University, Diphu Campus, on the topic ‘Traditiol customs’.

Altogether 146 students participated in it and certificates were presented to the best painter and also to all participants by the Director of Information & Public Relations, Assam. The Department of Information & Public Relations, Assam also organized a symposium on the topic ‘Social Responsibilities of Youth with Special Emphasis on Youth Employability’. Students from Diphu Government College, Assam University, Diphu Campus took part in the symposium. Eminent speakers like Dr. Amalesh Bhawal, Head Department of Commerce, Assam University, Diphu Campus and Dr. A.Ibencha Chanu, senior Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Assam University, Diphu campus spoke on the topic and replied to questions during the interactive session.  

Later, certificates were presented to the participants by Shekhar Engti, Joint Director of Information and Public Relations, Assam, Dispur on behalf of the DIPR, Assam. The Department of Information & Public Relations, Assam also organized a photography competition among the students up to the age of 25 years and also professiols on the theme ‘Traditiol Custom and Unity in Diversity’.
