Itanagar All Geared Up for First Arunachal LitFest 2018

Guwahati: The capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar will welcome eminent Authors and Literati to the First Arunachal LitFest 2018. Itanagar, the picturesque city of Arunachal Pradesh, is all geared up for the 3 day Fest starting from November 28.

A panel discussion “Buiding Bridges through Literature” by prominent authors and poets; interface with eminent writers; short story reading; poetry reading; book exhibition and cultural night will be the main attractions of Arunachal LitFest 2018

The Different Sessions of the Programmes will start from 10 am

Eminent Authors and Literati like Mark Tully, Mamang Dai, Dhruba Hazarika, Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi, Mridula Garg, Dr Rita Choudhury, Ravi Singh, and many others will take part in the three day extravaganza.

Noteworthy that earlier in August this year, similar festival of this kind, the Arunachal Literature & Art Festival (ALAF) was organised at the Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar. The festival had an overwhelming response from lovers of art and literature in the state.

The inaugural day witnessed a huge footfall of art lovers who flocked the venue to have glimpse of the works of local artists of the likes of Jene Hai, Gyamar Nanam, Rinchin Choden, Kenjum Angu, Takam Harming, Zarjo Bengia and Bhanu Tatak, whose creations were exhibited in the art exhibition.

The book fair held as a part of the festival venue also drew a considerable number of book lovers to the stalls.

Popular Publishing houses like Tulika Books, Teri Press, Kalpravirksha, Sahitya Akademi, and publisher of the state like Potigarh of Naharlagun have all put up their stalls in the book fair.

The state all geared up to host a second Festival to showcase the literature and culture of the state within a span of few months speaks volume about the people of Arunachal’s love for their art, culture, and literature.
