ITBP DG reviews operational preparedness

Itanagar, May 23: Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) RK Pachnanda, accompanied by IG (Operations) SS Harta and IG, NE Frontier, MS Rawat on Tuesday visited the ITBP North East Frontier headquarter here and its field formations to take stock of the operational duties and to review the operational preparedness of the force, which is tasked with guarding the border in the highly sensitive Indo-China border.

The DG also made a visit to ITBP’s 54th Battalion at Bhalukpong, 31st Battalion at Yupia, Regional Training Centre and 10th Battalion at Kimin where the operational/administrative matters and the points of constraints in execution of routine duties were discussed with field commanders in detail. He interacted with the jawans and emphasized for their vital and vigilant role towards the nation’s security. He also addressed the newly passing out recruits at Regional Training Centre, Kimin who are going to join the mainstream of this Force and wished them a happy and successful service career ahead, an official release informed here today.

The DG, ITBP also addressed a Sainik Sabha at the NE Frontier HQ here and encouraged the jawans to carry out their duties with utmost dedication & devotion. He cited that we should keep ourselves mentally/physically robust and professionally sound so that at the time of any untoward incident we could be capable to face any kind of challenges to safeguard the Indian territory with motto of the Force “Shaurya, Dridhta and Karamnistha”.

He appreciated the duties being performed by the brave jawans in highly rugged and inhospitable weather conditions of this area and conveyed his best wishes to all the ranks of North East Frontier & its formations for their arduous & relentless services in this region, the release added.
