James Sylliang quits Peoples Democratic Front (PDF)

SHILLONG: The Executive Member in-charge Elaka, James Sylliang in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has revealed his intension to resign from the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) led by Chairman PN Syiem in the coming weeks.

It may be mentioned that earlier, another PDF MDC Latiplang Kharkongor also an EM in the KHADC under the Khasi Hills Democratic Alliance (KHDA) has also revealed similar intention while citing that the Peoples Democratic Front is a one man (PN Syiem) party. Speaking to The Sentinel Sylliang said, “I was suspended by the party earlier and later reinstated however this was done without the consultation with other party workers and he made the decision alone and that has proven that this party has no future.” Sylliang said even in the upcoming MDC election slated for 2019, he will not be contesting from the PDF and in the coming week will resign from the party. “Even my supporters have requested me not to contest from the PDF because they have seen through the lens that this is a one man party,” he said.
