Jawra Maio joins Saffron Brigade

BORDUMSA: At the time, when State BJP high Command has been pushing hard to bring all the ambitious ticket-seekers of Bordumsa-Diyun seat under one common umbrella to sort out existing differences ahead of assembly polls to be held in early 2019, another law professional of the area Jawra Maio made his way into the party with more than one thousand supporters during a programme held on Thursday afternoon here at the auditorium of Singpho Heritage Center.

The law professional turned politician was accorded a formal reception during the merger programme attended by State Convener of Bharatiya Yuba Morcha CC Singpho , State BJP Secretary Mayong Maio and Kaidim Singpho , the District President of Mahila Morcha, Kamjam Hangpuk , the Vistarak Changlang District and members and office bearers of various wings of BJP. During his address, Maio underlined the cause and effects of the underdeveloped status of the constituency and further stated that lack of awareness among the people and indifference of the elected representatives. ‘Leaders emerge from the people and it’s the leadership that leads the place and people towards development, so people must choose a right and deserving candidate to protect and promote the common cause’, said Maio.

When asked about his political ambition, Maio conveyed to The Sentinel saying ‘1500 plus strong supporters of mine itself speak of my eligibility for people’s love comparing to those already in the queue seeking BJP ticket for the assembly election’.

Other speakers include CC Singpho, Kamjam Hangpuk , Mayong Maio and several others also poured in their opinion and indicated of their respective popularity beside briefing the ideology and discipline of the BJP. It would be interesting to see what party high command does regarding the all the ticket aspirants. It is to be mentioned that in the constituency Shingpho and Chakma votes usually decide that fate of candidates but Nikh Kamin the NPP leader cum present MLA of the constituency has been facing high anti-incumbency challenges by his own people chiefly the Chakmas.
