Jharkhand: 20 People Detained for Allegedly Beating Activist Agnivesh

The Jharkhand Police have detained 20 individuals for purposely pounding social Activist Agnivesh in the state’s Pakur locale on Tuesday. Agnivesh asserted his assailants were labourers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidya Parishad. He was in Pakur to take an interest in an occasion in Littipara square. “When I left the setting, BJYM and ABVP activists assaulted me with no incitement,” he said. “They charged that I was talking against Hindus.”

Jharkhand Chief Minister, Raghubar Das, has requested an examination concerning the issue. Pakur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashok Kumar Singh said the blameworthy would not be saved.

Recordings of the episode, which have since turned into a web sensation via web-based networking media, demonstrate the assailants waving dark banners and raising trademarks against him. “I thought Jharkhand was a tranquil state, however my perspectives have changed after this episode,” Agnivesh said.

In the meantime, the Bharatiya Janata Party removed itself from the episode. The representative of the gathering’s Jharkhand unit, P Shahdeo, stated, “They weren’t labourers of our gathering. We censure this however his reputation is to such an extent that this response doesn’t come as a shock.”

Activist Agnivesh, has been assaulted in the past too. In 2011, religious pioneer Nityanand Das, attacked Agnivesh at an open gathering over his remarks on the Amarnath Yatra. The lobbyist had depicted the yearly journey as “pakhand”, or bad faith, an announcement for which he was later censured by the Supreme Court.
