Jonbai Cultural award for Dipali Borthakur

GUWAHATI, June 16: Jonbai Sanskritik Gosthi, a city based cultural group, will present Jonbai Cultural award to renowned Assamese singer Dipali Borthakur on June 21 in a programme in Guwahati.

Addressing a press conference here today, singer Mash Robin said the group will confer the award on Dipali Barthakur in a programme to be held on the occasion of World Music Day in Guwahati. The event, to be held in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs and State Music College, will witness participation of several popular singers, he said.

The award carries cash Rs 30,000, a citation, seleng chador and a xarai. The press meet was also addressed by musician Biman Baruah, singer Bhitali Das and Barli Kalita.
