Jorhat bids farewell to DC Vasant

JORHAT, June 10: Jorhat DC Solanki Vishal Vasant was today bid farewell here, has been promoted to the post of Secretary in the office of Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal.

Speaking at the farewell function, DC Vasant said, “Jorhat became my second home and I felt very comfortable here. But owing to government rules and regulations, I have to keep moving for delivering service to the common people. Of all experiences, Jorhat was sweet and I hope I have not let anyone down to the best of my knowledge. I am thankful to both the former government and the present government for giving me this honour. From today, Roshni Korati, ADC will be in charge of the Deputy Commissioners post until further orders”.

Diganta Buragohain, president and Rajib Bora, secretary of the Jorhat Press Club felicitated the outgoing DC on behalf of the jourlists.

An emotiol Vasant before concluding the session said, “No doubt, how genuine your intentions are but if implementation and execution is not genuine then the fil outcome is always a zero. In the last fifteen years there had been hundreds of schemes launched for the common public but the district administration and the nodal agencies always had a scarcity of staff which might have directly and indirectly hampered implementation of schemes somewhere. Even then pursuance always brings results and one should keep pursuing. However, during my tenure about 98% of the people were compensated against land acquisition of 4 lane works and that 48 km of the tiol highway has already been completed”.
