Jorhat to host Magh Music Festival on January 17 and 18

JORHAT: To develop the culture, heritage and tourism of Assam, the Magh Music Festival will be held on January 17 and January 18 at Hatisungi along River Bhogdoi. It will be organized by Eaykya of Easterns where star singers and musicians of Assam like Zubeen Garg, Joi Baruah, Nil Akash, Achurijya Borpatra and Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar will perform, said Polash Bonia, the president of the organizing committee, while briefing mediapersons at Jorhat Press Club on Thursday.

Polash Bonia said that as Jorhat city was considered the cultural hub of Assam, music lovers could easily reach here for the music fest. The two-day event will start with a yoga session followed by Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan, traditional musical programme, Magh Bihu games like tekele bhonga and koni juj. The Jorhat administration is making hectic preparations to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the two-day event.
