Junhui ranks fourth in world snooker

Beijing, May 5: Chinese star Ding Junhui remains the only Chinese in the top 10 players of the world, according to the world rankings released by the World Professiol Billiards and Snooker Association on Tuesday. Ding stands fourth in the world, while newly crowned world champion Stuart Bingham of England is on top. The 28-year-old Ding, who suffered a surprise 4-13 defeat to Englishman Judd Trump at the World Snooker Championship and had to accept an early exit last week, has experienced a dismal season. He crashed out at the first round in six major tourments including the UK Championship and the Masters.

But Ding also made history this season as he climbed to the top position in the world rankings on December 3, 2014, becoming the first Asian to rank first in the world.

His top ranking mainly came from his good results last season, as he won five tourments. Fu Jiajun of Hong Kong, Chi ranks the 11th, while Xiao Guodong is 21st, and Liang Wenbo, 22nd. IANS
