Junior National Sepak Takraw Begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship got underway at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium here today. The Additional DGP of Assam Police AK Sinha Kashyap inaugurated the championship. Around 500 players and officials from 25 states are participating in the meet.

Among other present in the inaugural function were Secretary General of Sepak Takraw Federation of India Yogendra Singh Dahiya along with sports organizer Queen Oja (also the vice president of Sports Authority of Assam), Premadhar Sarma, Kalyan Das, Swapnanil Barua, Ankur Dutta, Sumitra Hazarika (Social worker), Rajiv Prakash Barua and the secretary of the Assam Sepak Takraw Association Bishnuram Nunisa. Noted singer Sangita Kakoti performed in the inaugural function.
