Kalaigaon MLA interacts with village headmen

TANGLA, June 10: BFP legislator Maheswar Boro and BTC EM Jagadish Sarkar had a day-long interactive session with 32 government village headmen working under Kalaigaon Revenue Circle at Kalaigaon on Thursday. The programme was organized by Kalaigaon branch of Assam Gaonburha Association. The programme was presided over by senior headmen Karun Chandra Deka. Basundhar Rabha, secretary, Kalaigaon Gaonburha Association welcomed the distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Sarkar, EM, BTC said that he would jointly work in collaboration with MLA Maheswar Boro for the welfare of the people of Kalaigaon and urged all the village headmen to play proactive role for successful implementation of government schemes.

He further said that they would never consider who had voted for whom. MLA Boro said that he would like to work rather than giving assurance. DN Hazarika, SDO (Sadar), Udalguri in his speech said that headmen could change the society. They are the one who could do much in eradicating superstition from the society.
