‘Kalitas must be well organized and aware of their rights’: Former MP Kirip Chaliha

MERAPANI: “The Kalitas must be well organized and aware of their rights,” said former MP Kirip Chaliha at the 10th biennial district conference of Kalita Jonogoshthi on the second day programme held under the aegis of Dakhin Anchalik Simanna Sakha at Vaishnavapran Ananta Dutta Khetra which successfully concluded on Sunday.

The former MP appealed to the assembled people to raise their demands firmly before the government. On the first day, the programme started with the opening of the main gate by Jogen Dutta, the president of Kalita Jonogoshthi. Smriti tarpan was done by Chandan Hazarika, former Principal of Furkating College. The organizational flag was hoisted by Dijen Saikia, the secretary of Anchalik Sakha. Imdadul Hussain, the adviser of Golaghat Zila Mohkuma Satra Santha, conducted the tree plantation. Rajat Kakati, the headmaster of Bhadreswar Bora Girls’ ME School, inaugurated the Nitumoni Dutta Auditorium. Distinguished social worker Ajit Saikia inaugurated the exhibition site of the conference.

On the second day, a cultural procession was taken out followed by open meeting held under the president ship of Bipin Bora, the president of Kalita Jonogoshthi, Golaghat district committee. Bipul Bhuyan, the Principal of HPB Girls’ College, Golaghat released the souvenir Simanta.
