Itagar, Jan 25: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured to address the problems faced by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) while executing the strategic Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) road.

Khandu’s assurance came during a meeting with BRO officials at Tawang on Monday to take stock of the condition of the road, an official report informed here today. The BRO officials detailed stretch by stretch report on the current status of the road. They also placed before the chief minister the problems including fund constraint being faced in execution of work. Considering the slow pace of work, Khandu suggested that the road could be expedited by delegating work to a particular organisation after tendering process with BRO remaining the nodal agency. Land acquisition process, compensation issues and other issues with respect to BRO roads within the district were also discussed during the meeting. Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi who was also present in the meeting requested the BRO to work on war footing before the onset of monsoon with increased workforce. He asked for early maintence of Changprong to Tawang mostery via Nehru market road, which is to be followed during the proposed visit of the Dalai Lama in March next, the report added.
