Khandu stresses on bamboo based industries

Itanagar, June 3: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has shown keen interest in setting up bamboo based industries in the State in order to encourage the local youth to come forward and take up self-employment ventures for earning their livelihoods.

The Chief Minister expressed this during a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resources Development Agency (APBRDA) chairman Yora Tagung at his office here on Saturday.

Both had a detailed discussion regarding propagation and cultivation, promotion of bamboo treatment and preservation, product development and processing, development of infrastructure for bamboo market, development of tools, equipment and machinery, skill development and awareness campaign, research and development and project management, among others. This was stated in an official communiqué on Sunday.
