The Meghalaya Governor earlier had fixed the election of the Chairman of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on July 24 and the filing of nomination will be held on July 23.

In this connection, Hadrian Lyngdoh (PDF) from the Opposition People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) and UDP MDC from Shella, Teinwell Dkhar from the Khasi Hills Democratic Alliance (KHDA) today filed their nomination for the position of Chairman at the office chamber of the secretary of the legislative wing of the district council.

Earlier this month on July 20, Equator L. Nongrang, the UDP MDC from Mairang, was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) after the candidate for the People’s Democratic Alliance withdrew.
