SHILLONG, Dec 4: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma today said that Khun Hynniewtrep tiol Awakening Movement (KHM) raking up the state’s reservation policy was only to whip up an issue. “If they don’t whip up issues they will be forgotten,” Dr Sangma said. “They (party members) are leaving them. They are in a pathetic condition,” the Chief Minister said. According to Dr Sangma, the demand to review the state reservation policy by the KHM was more of a political statement. Recently, the KHM termed the 40 percent reservation policy for Khasis and Garos here in the state as unjustified and had strongly criticized the failure to review the same right from the year 1972 till date.
