SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) on Monday announced the names of six candidates to contest the upcoming KHADC election from the party. The six candidates announced by the party includes F Thangkhiew from Mylliem, D Marbaniang from Laitumkhrah, Glenbert Khongwir from Mawkhar- Pynthorumkhrah, Strong Kharjana from Jaiaw- Mawprem, K Warchandi from Mawphlang and B Lapang from Umroi constituency.

Speaking to reporters after the announcement KHNAM state president Adelbert Nongrum said, “There has been differences within the party and the people are also confused over this, however the party is moving forward through the announcement of candidates with an objective to serve the people and safeguard the interest of the indigenous populace of the state.”

He informed that the party has a mission with a vision and that is to serve the people not only in elected constituency but for the interest of the people across Meghalaya.

Nongrum also urged the candidates to always be discipline while conducting their election campaign and not to point fingers at other rival candidates.
