Kidpped girl rescued, accused absconding

Goalpara, March 7: A minor girl who was kidpped on February 23 was recovered by the victim’s kin on Friday at Garo hills in Meghalaya. The girl, who was reportedly kidpped from Matia, was harrased by three youths inside a Tata Indica at Dubu in Meghalya.

The police have registered a case (no 35/15) under Section 363 and 366 of Indian Pel Code against the accused and sent the girl for medical examition.

The uncle of the girl alleged that the accused and his accomplice sexually assaulted her. He lodged a complaint at Matia police station stating that Abdul Sheikh, Zehirul Islam and Motleb Ali of Mamudpur village kidpped the girl on the intervening night of February 21 enticing her.

Police , however , have not arrested the accused so far. “The matter is under investigation,” said a police official of Matia police station.
