KMSS reiterates demand removal of APSC chief

GUWAHATI, June 9: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), which has been spearheading the agitation against APSC, has demanded Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonwal to remove APSC chairman Rakesh Paul.

Addressing a press conference here today, KMSS adviser Akhil Gogoi said that Rakesh Paul is in no way fit for a constitutiol post.

“In 1988 he was simply an advocate of a lower court. He even could not prove his metal when he joined as an advocate in Gauhati High Court in 1990. He was appointed as the member of APSC because of his close link with the leaders of the then Congress government. He became close with the then Chief Minister through a minister from Barak valley and subsequently became the APSC chief,” said Gogoi.

“Such a person has no moral right to remain as a head of a constitutiol post,” said the KMSS leader.   The KMSS also demanded inquiry into the alleged anomalies in the APSC exam under section 317 of the Indian Constitution.
