Bongaigaon, June 3: The All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) will stage a three-hour long demonstration in every district of Assam on June 4. Gokul Barman, AKRSU general secretary, said that this government had betrayed them. “Nand Kumar Say, chairman of National Scheduled Tribe Commission, said that he is unaware about the demand of the six communities for ST categorization. This is conspiracy against us and we must protest it. Hence, we will stage a three-hour long demonstration in every district of Assam on June 4. After this we will conduct a massive protest meeting in Bongaigaon towards the end of June,” he said. On the other hand, All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Yuba Chatra Sanmilanee has also decided to protest for the same issue. “We will take out a torch rally in Bongaigaon town on June 5 evening. We demand the government to fulfil our demands immediately. Otherwise, we will form massive democratic agitation in the coming days,” said Troloikya Ray, president of the organization.
