Kokrajhar youth from remote village to fly Airbus

KOKRAJHAR, May 18: In an inspiring achievement, Thulunga rzary, son of Brajendra rzary and. Tanuja rzary hailing from the remote village of igaon Batabari, Aflagaon in the district of Kokrajhar, BTC, has completed his pilot license training from the Flight and Simulator Training School in Manila, Philippines and Global Training Aviation Centre, Madrid, Spain.

The duration of the training was 12 months from November 2007 to November 2008. He said the chief of BTC, Hagrama Mohilary supported his training by giving him Rs 1 lakh during the flying training in Philippines and the Deputy Chief Kampa Borgayary had also supported the training programe with funds of $1100 USD and issued scholarship of Rs 1 lakh from the Education department of BTC.

rzary said he was really thankful for their support during his flying training in Philippines. “After coming back to India from Philippines, I appeared for DGCA (India) CPL examitions in 2009 and I received commercial pilot license in September, 2009. I joined as Radio Operator in Flight Operations department of Air India in May, 2011,” he said, adding, “After arranging funds for special training of Airbus A320 Type Rating, I went to Global Training Aviation Centre, Madrid, Spain in May, 2015 and after completion of the training programe in Spain, I was back in India and appeared for Air India Senior Trainee Vacancy.”

The result was declared on May 16. rzary thanked Chino Basumatary, chief editor of Bodosa, Gangadhar Ramchiary and his wife Runumi Ramchiary for their moral support during the training and the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) for their inspiration.
