Kul, Swarupam guide Bud to huge victory

GUWAHATI, April 23: Rode on two solid performances from Kul Saikia and Swarupam Purkayastha, Bud Cricket club thrashed United Sports club by 116 runs in the Golap Hazarika and Arati Hazarika T20 Cricket tourment match held at the Judges ground here today. Kul (75, 34 balls) came out with a spectacular innings while Swarupam (4/5) bowled a magic spell in the game. Elected to bat, on the first game of the day, Bud Cricket club scored 174-4 in their 15 overs. Kul scored 75 runs in the game and more than 80 percent of those runs came from boundaries and over boundaries. He hit eight four and five sixes during his 34 balls knock. Dhiraj Goswami (38no) and Chandan Raut (30) were the other notable contributors. Later Swarupam came out with handy performance with ball. The spinner bowled just two overs in the match and he picked up four wickets giving away just five runs. This spell shattered all hope of United Sports club and the side just maged to score 58 runs in their 15 overs losing eight wickets.

Meanwhile in the second game of the day Veteran Cricketers lost to Gauhati Town club by 30 runs. Elected to bat, Gauhati Town club put 132-3 on the board in 15 overs. yanjyoti Deka (41) was the top scorer while Deep Borah also played a good knock and remained not out on 39. Veteran Cricketers scored 103-5 in their 15 overs. Although Zakaria Zuffri (47, 28 balls) played a quick knock but he didn't get good support from the other end.

2nd game: Gauhati Town club 132-3 915 overs), yanjyoti Deka 41, Deep Borah 39 no, Veteran Cricketers 103-5(15 overs), Zakaria Zuffri 47.
