GUWAHATI, June 5: The residents of GMC Ward No 16 of Lal Ganesh area have been accustomed to the acute shortage of water allegedly due to the negligence by the authority in spite of repeated pleas. Talking to The Sentinel, the residents of the area aggrieved that the GMC supplies water twice a day through the public tapes. However, the limited water supplied to the ward is not enough in order to meet the demand. Bhaskar Kalita, a resident of the ward said, “We have been individually purchasing water from private vendors to perform our routine works; from core to the kitchen works. We have apprised our grievances to the GMC many a times but what we have got in return is the repeated negligence showed by the authority time and again.”
