Law on asylum will be harmful for Assam and North East: Jayanta Malla Baruah

GUWAHATI: BJP Spokesperson Jayanta Malla Baruah alleged that the Congress party has resorted to cheap politics in the name of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) and creating strife among the people by asking them to oppose the Bill.

Addressing the press at State BJP Head Office at Hengrabari, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan on Saturday, Baruah claimed that the Congress party was stirring up a tumult among the people of the state by turning them against CAB and on the other hand, has tried to provide citizenship to the refugees as per the Law on Asylum mentioned in their party manifesto. “Through this law, the Congress party is trying to make a Kashmir out of Assam. Their desire is to provide citizenship to the Rohingya Muslims through this law”, alleged Baruah.
