lbari legislator Jayanta Malla to join BJP, resigns from APCC media cell

LBARI, Aug 27: lbari MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah today said here that he has resigned from the post of panelist of media cell of the  Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) . Baruah, who held a meeting with his supporters also announced that he has decided to join the BJP following the footsteps of former Education Minister and Jalukbari MLA Himanta Biswa Sarma.  

Sources close to the MLA said that even though he has not fixed the date of his joining the saffron party, he is in constant touch with the BJP leadership.

“BJP has confirmed his ticket from lbari constituency in the Assembly polls to be held next year,” sources claimed.

Meanwhile, lbari District Youth Congress leaders Biswajit Deka, Nipan th, Chayanika Deka Sahariah and mita Bhattacharya , president of lbari District Mahila Congress Committee, resigned from their respective posts of the party.  Sources said they would  also follow the suit of Jayanta Malla Baruah.
