Leave decision on evidence to government: Rijiju

New Delhi, Oct 5: The decision to release evidence of the Army’s surgical strikes should be left to the government, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday. Responding to reporters over demands from several quarters that evidence on the surgical strikes be released to counter the false propaganda by Pakistan, Rijiju said: “Have faith in the Indian Army. Leave the decision to the government.” In the wake of Pakistan’s denial that any surgical strikes took place in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress have asked the government to take effective steps to call Pakistan’s bluff. The special forces of the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) on September 28-29 night and destroyed several terror launch pads. The action came 11 days after the terror attack on an Indian Army camp in Uri town of Kashmir on September 18, which killed 17 soldiers. Two more soldiers later succumbed to their injuries. (IANS)
