Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Conducts Surprise Inspection

ZIRO: The department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs (LM&CA) Ziro on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection where it booked 12 traders for violating Legal Metrology Act 2009 on Thursday. Inspector, LM&CA Kesang Tashi informed that around 11 traders were booked for violating weight and measures law, where one was booked under Package commodity rules for not displaying mandatory declaration on retail packages and selling above MRP. The traders were later also informed about various Legal Metrology Laws and need to get weight and measures verified and renewed when due.
