Jorhat, June 25: The Jorhat Forest Division, under the leadership of Dipak Dutta, the Range Officer and his team, managed to trap a female leopard from Rowriah Dholajan area. The leopard was ceating terror and had injured five persons, all tea garden workers from adjacent tea gardens of Gotonga, Kamarbondha, Moubondha and Sansua in the past 7 to 8 days, informed forest sources on Monday. The Forest Division laid a cage in the Moubondha Tea Estate boundary and also kept a prey, a goat, which remained inside the cage for two days and on the third day the leopard came in search of food for her cubs and was trapped inside. The cage was carried to the Forest Range Office, Jorhat and later in the evening, the leopard was released at Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, said sources.
