Leopard creates terror in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: A female leopard and her two cubs have been creating terror in the Kalugaon, Meteka, Amguri, Bogidol and Salaguri areas under Joysagar Police Station of Sivasagar since the last few days. Local villagers informed that the leopard had attacked four local businessmen of Kalugaon few days ago. The leopard and her cubs were spotted by the locals wandering here and there in search of food and shelter. Villagers informed the Sivasagar Divisional Forest Officer on Monday.

Forest Department personnel visited the villages and are preparing to safely cage the leopard and her cubs. Forest officers doubt that the leopard might have come out from the Abhaipur Reserve Forest.
