Dubious lobby in Indian Railways

It transpires from a report aired by the electronic media that a list of candidates employed by the Indian Railways during the period from 2003 to 2018 under Group-C and Group-D in this part (North-East) has been sought by the Guwahati High Court on a PIL filed by Tarini Das. It is surprising that even after lapse of several months, Indian Railways fail to submit the list before the Court for reasons best known to the Railways. This unveils the oft-repeated allegations against a strong Hindi-lobby whose dubious activities keep the candidates of north-east away while ensuring employment for those coming from the regions like UP and Bihar. On one hand, the Union Government have always been harping on the same string that the Government is paying full attention to the north-east for addressing the grievances hitherto not redressed by all the erstwhile governments and the negative attitude of the authority of the Indian Railways in respect of employment of the candidates of this region, particularly Assam on the other hand. The matter looks contradictory. The presence of the Union Railway Minister (State) who happens to be an MP from Assam makes no difference. It seems certain invisible and dubious lobby is brushing the truth under the carpet to turn things to their advantage.

Salute to IAF

It is a welcome move that in a pinpointed and swift air strike, Indian Air Force pounded Jaish-e-Mahammed's biggest training camp in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (P{OK) on February 26, killing about 50 terrorists and trainers, who were moved for their protection after the Pulwama attack. It is highly laudable that the IAF ventured the operation against terrorists in POK planning intelligently and scientifically without giving any loophole of information as to time, place, period and way of information and preparation. And IAF took 10 days for opportunity to carry the operation in sync with all wings of IAF. At the same time, I would like to request the IAF to look into that no civilian casualty occurred. I would also like to request the government to call an all-party meeting as well as take all opposition parties into confidence on the issue. Bravo IAF.
