Aero India 2019 & market potential

A spectacular air show on February 20 began the five-day 12th edition of Aero India at AF Station Yelahanka near Bangalore. The biennial show started since 2006. I was present at that biggest air show of Asia. Display of the multi-role supersonic fighter aircraft LCA Teja is a proud moment for India. There are tens of thousands of visitors ranging from business groups to the enthusiast public at the premier aerospace and aviation exhibition. There is active participation from prominent aviation players like the HAL, DRDO ADA, CSIR National Aerospace, Army Aviation, Genser Aerospace, IAF, Lakshya Flying, BEL, Airbus, SFTE, Dasault Aviation, as well as from the French Air Force, and the US Embassy. The visitors were also able to have a look at India's most talked about aircraft - the Rafale at the venue. Moreover, India provides a significant platform of opportunities to the global aerospace and aviation sector under 'Make in India'. India's acquisition of 110 multi-role fighter jets and 111 naval utility helicopters as well as the indigenous project Teja has already attracted global attention. With air traffic in India likely to increase in 2020, India is poised to become the third largest aviation market in the world.
