In search of ‘Messiah’

It is crystal clear now – entering Assam illegally is so easy an exercise! The recent arrest of three Rohingyas at Lumding Railway station is a case in point. In Assam there are myriad of sympathizers with whose patronage these foreign nationals are roaming about in the State. Meanwhile, there is an appeal from many Madrassas of Assam to donate liberally for the Rohingyas as reported both in the electronic and the print media. This happened despite the clear stand on this specific issue of the Union Government. When we cry foul over the CAB, the Rohingya issue is equally a threat to the internal security of India. The Rohingyas already have a militant background in Myanmar for which they had been driven out by the army. They took shelter in neighbouring Bangladesh. Now, how they would be rehabilitated to their original home, it is for the international bodies to decide. Reports in the news paper suggest that the population pattern of the middle Assam and lower Assam is changing fast with the increase of Muslim population at an alarming rate. Meanwhile, many youths particularly from middle and lower Assam have been caught after they carried out subversive activities. Recent arrest of a terrorist Ariful Islam of Borpeta in Kolkata for his alleged involvement in ‘Bodh Gaya Blast’ speaks volume of our contention. These youth are said to be members of the Jammat-Ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh (JMB). Now, the good works of compilation of a flawless NRC are all set to be destroyed by the Union government as they are hell-bent on CAB’s materialization.

We people of Assam are at our wit’s end not knowing exactly who our messiah is.
