Lookout notice against teacher accused of rape

Shillong, Feb 8: Meghalaya police has issued a lookout notice for Konesshon Rodborne, who allegedly raped a school student and made unwanted advance on another pupil. The lookout notice was issued after the police failed to trace him after the FIR was lodged against him. The FIR was lodged by the Civil Society Women Organization (CSWO) and the Thma u Rangli (TUR). Rodborne is a resident of Mawsynram and teaches in Tlong Umiam Secondary School under Sohiong constituency. Attempts to arrest him have yield no results prompting the police to issue the notice. The Police registered a case at Laban Police station under section 5 (f) (p) 11 (4) and (5) Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The president of CSWO, Agnes Kharshiing said that they lodged the FIR based on the revelation of the victims. One of the victims was raped in August 2016 ahead of the pre-board examitions and similar advances were made on the other under age student in January this year. The accused teachers also allegedly blackmailed the victim threatening to make public the video footage he captured in his cell phone.
