Lynching: Five more arrested

GUWAHATI, June 18: Karbi Anglong police arrested five more accused – Raikom Timung, Mensing Kro, Roben Mech, Bikram Hanse and Protap Kro – on Monday in connection with the recent lynching of Abhijit Nath and Nilutpol Das at Panjuri under Dokmoka police station in Karbi Anglong district. So far, 36 people have been arrested in connection with the case. Talking to The Sentinel, Karbi Anglong SP Dr. V Siva Prasad Ganjala said: “The investigation is nearing its end. We’re trying to arrest a few more accused. We’re also trying to fast track the trial.”
