Mahurat of new Bodo film Nwngni Thakainw takes place

KOKRAJHAR, June 4: The mahurat of new Bodo film Nwngni Thakainw took place at Cheng Bagan, Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Sunday. State WPT&BC and Tourism Chandan Brahma broke the coconut and clicked the first shot in presence of BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary and former Speaker of the council, Paniram Brahma. Paniram Brahma spoke about the Bodo film industry and its rising demands. He said the Bodo films lacked modern equipment, technique and filming studios. He also pointed out the lack of infrastructure for showing the films which discouraged producers and financers. He hoped that the problems of Bodo film industry would be addressed as the council had separate department to boost the industry. He also hoped that the new film under Bodo Cine Producers’ Association would be a success.

The new Bodo film will be produced by Bodo Cine Producers’ Association for the first time and they are planning to produce a film every year. The script is written by Rojen Narzary and will be directed by him. The shooting of social action film will take place in different parts of the region and Mahesh Basumatary will handle the camera work. Rabi Narzary and Somaina Narzary will be the main actors. Besides, Prabin Goyary, Jonali Basumatary, Simple Brahma, Subarna Basumatary, Bikash Basumatary (Laloo), Manjil Basumatary, Isha Brahma and Jwngma Basumatary will play different roles in the film while Pwilao Basumatary will be seen in a comic role and Vishal in a negative role.
