Main accused in ganja case arrested

SARUPATHAR, July 6: While one quintal ganja was seized at Barpathar in Dhansiri subdivision on July 1 and three persons were arrested in this context, the main accused identified as Amrit Jadev (53), resident of Dimapur in Nagaland, was arrested last night. According to sources SDPO of Dhansiri subdivision Anirban Sharma and Barpathar police station second officer in-charge Pushpa Hazarika in cooperation of Dimapur Police succeeded in nabbing the accused from Dimapur Railway Colony. Meanwhile, a case (No 81/18 ES 29 BC ) has been registered in Barpathar police station under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, while the accused has remanded to jail custody. According to the police, the accused has been involved in narcotic substances business since long.
