Make Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) verification report public: Padi Richo

Itanagar: Former Minister Padi Richo in a letter on Thursday has drawn the attention of Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner, about the problems confronting the people, particularly of Ziro-Hapoli assembly constituency, due to non-completion of Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH).

Though your team long ago conducted verification of TAH to remove anomalies, particularly compensation payment, but inordinate delay in submission of the report has created lot of misgivings among the people, said the letter, a copy of which is available with Press.

Richo, who is also the former president of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) urged the DC to make the verification report public before January 24 failing which, he threatened to stage hunger strike in front of his office from January 25 next.

It would be worth mentioning here that three persons, including Lower Subansiri DC, were arrested for anomalies in land compensation payment.

In another development, urban development chief engineers Taba Tedir on Thursday refunded Rs 3.25 crore received as compensation for his property at Billo village lost for construction of TAH.
