Mamata Banerjee send me gifts every year: PM Narendra Modi

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in interaction with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said that the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sends him gifts three-four times a year. He said that the people will be surprised and although it should not be said in the election season he said that Mamata Didi sends him gifts every year.

The Prime Minister said that Banerjee still sends him one or two kurtas a year.

Narendra Modi's interview was telecasted a day after one of his sharpest attacks on Mamata Banerjee at a rally in West Bengal on Tuesday. In the interview with Akshay Kumar, Modi said that the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent him new types of sweets every year and when Mamata Didi found out she also started sending him sweets once or twice a year.

At a rally in Asansol in West Bengal, PM Modi said, "Our didi who is contesting a handful of seats is dreaming of becoming Prime Minister. If the PM's post could be auctioned then the Congress and Mamata didi would come with whatever they have looted through corruption."

He said to didi that this post is not on auction that it can be bought from the money from Sharada and Narada. This post could be obtained from the blessings of 130 crore Indians.

During the interaction with the actor, he was also asked whether he has any good friends in the opposition to which the Prime Minister said "Yes, I have so many good friends and we share a meal together."

The Prime Minister also said that when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had a friendly chat with Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad which the media had wondering adding that he and Azad had several chai sessions and people are surprised how an Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) person like him could be friends with Azad.
