Man-Animal Conflict: Wild Elephants Terrorise People in various parts of Assam

Kampur/Sonari/Tamulpur: Residents of Kampur's Bakulguri area are living in fear of elephants that have terrorized the area. As per a report, a herd of ten elephants had destroyed the crop fields of the local farmers in the area.

Following the incident, forest personnel reached the spot to control the wild animals.

It may be mentioned that local people came out in large numbers out of fear, however, they were forced to move away from the area to a safer zone.

Meanwhile, Kampur police had urged the people in the area to calm down as the forest department will address the situation.

Similarly, in another man-elephant conflict, a resident of a person at Sonari near Assam-Nagaland border was destroyed by a herd of wild elephants on Monday night.

It may further be mentioned that another herd of wild jumbos destroyed six houses including properties valued worth lakhs at Uparkhuti Bholajhar village at Tamulpur in Baksa district.
