Man dies after being hit by speeding bike

Silchar, June 24: Death of 39 year old Vongaikamai, a resident of Rongmai Colony in Fulertal, recently has sent waves of shock among the people of that area. Vongaikamai was hit by a motorcycle bearing No. AS 11 H 3469 when he was talking over his cell phone while standing on the side of the road at Digar Fulertal. The speeding motorcycle hit him hard and fled within seconds. Local people took the injured victim to Immanuel Rural Hospital, Pailapool from where they were advised to take to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. But, Vongaikamai died on his way to the hospital. His family members lodged an FIR with the police. Police is on a hunt to nab the culprit.
