JORHAT, June 1: At the behest of Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Narayan Konwar, a police team led by Magistrate Papori Das sealed two mango godowns and seven banana godowns for using heavy dose of carbide to ripen the fruits that has flooded the Jorhat market. The fruits in the godowns have also been seized. The two mango godowns are in Dhakaipatty area of Jorhat city and seven banana godowns are in Brahmaputra Market. The Deputy Commissioner informed that after taking stock of these fruits and completion of formalities, the fruits will be destroyed. The police have already identified the owners of the godowns and after proper investigation action will be taken.
