Marado criticises FIFA after Huracan road accident

Buenos Aires, Feb 18: Argentine football legend Diego Marado has criticised world football’s governing body (FIFA) after last week’s road accident in Venezuela involving Argenti’s Club Atletico Huracan.

The former Argenti player and coach expressed his support for the affected players in his Facebook account, while questioning the intertiol football organisation, reports Xinhua.

“I always defended my colleagues - the players - and I think it is FIFA’s responsibility, via Conmebol (South American Football Confederation), to offer minimum security conditions to protect them,” said Marado on Wednesday.

Marado, 55, also sent a special greeting to midfielder Patricio Torranzo and forward Diego Mendoza. These two players sustained the most serious injuries. IANS
